The short version: your child can only ever have a guided Hindi conversation with Kiki — there is no open chatbot to wander into. You can see and hear everything your child says. We collect the minimum needed to run the tutor, we never sell data or show ads, and one email deletes everything.
Safe by design, not by filter
The usual worry with AI and children is the open prompt — a chatbot a child can steer anywhere, with filters trying to catch problems after the fact. Kiki is built the other way around. She does exactly one thing: guide a spoken Hindi conversation on your child's current practice topic. If your child drifts somewhere else, Kiki warmly brings the conversation back to the lesson.
- No open-ended chat — every conversation is scoped to a practice topic and ends on its own.
- No ads, ever, anywhere in the product.
- No web browsing, no links, nothing pitched to your child.
- No strangers — nobody interacts with your child except Kiki, and nobody sees their data except you (and their teacher, if you joined through a school).
What we collect — the full list
This is everything. If it isn't in this table, we don't have it.
| About | What we store |
|---|---|
| You (the parent) | Your name and email, from Google sign-in or the email login link. The approximate city and country you signed up from (estimated from your internet address — e.g. "Singapore"), so we understand where our families are. If you subscribe, your payment status — payments are processed by Razorpay, and your card details never touch our servers. |
| Your child's profile | Only what you enter: first name, age, gender, and their script preference (Devanagari or Roman). |
| Practice | Your child's voice recordings during practice, the transcripts of what they said, the corrections Kiki noted, the words they've used, and their progress — town, stars, levels. This is the substance of the product: it's what powers your weekly report and Kiki's memory of your child. |
What we never collect
- No contact details for your child — no email, no phone number, no contacts.
- No GPS or device location — the coarse signup city above is the only location information we have, and it is about your account, not your child's whereabouts.
- No advertising trackers on any screen your child uses. (We use standard marketing analytics on our public parent-facing pages only — never inside your child's practice.)
- No selling or sharing of data for advertising. Not now, not ever.
Who can see your child's data
You — everything, always: the weekly report, full transcripts, and every voice recording, playable from your dashboard.
Their teacher — only if you joined through a school's code, and only for their class: practice activity, transcripts, and recordings, so Saturday teaching can respond to home practice.
Us — the small founding team, to support you and improve the product.
Nobody else.
The services we rely on
Like every modern product, Hindi Tutor is built on infrastructure providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its one job: Google Cloud (speech recognition and language models), Anthropic (language models), ElevenLabs (Kiki's voice), Amazon Web Services (recording storage), Resend (transactional email), Razorpay (payments), and Sentry (error monitoring). None of them may use your child's data for their own purposes.
How it's protected
- Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Recordings are stored privately and only ever served through links that expire within an hour, to you or your child's teacher.
- Email login links are single-use, expire in 15 minutes, and are stored only as cryptographic hashes.
- Your consent is recorded at signup, and the account is always yours — a child never enters into a data relationship with us.
Your controls
Review — everything your child has said is in your dashboard, any time.
Export — email us and we'll send you your family's data.
Delete — one email to shubham@hindispeakingtutor.in and we delete the account, recordings, and transcripts, promptly and permanently.
For the formal legal version, see our Privacy Policy & Terms. For how the AI itself works — and what it deliberately can't do — see How Kiki Works.
