Why I Built This
This project was born from a heartfelt family dinner conversation in Singapore. My nephew was struggling to maintain his Hindi while growing up in a world where Chinese surrounded him at school.
I witnessed firsthand how children in the Indian diaspora struggle to maintain their connection with Hindi in predominantly non-Hindi speaking environments. While trying to find a solution to this problem, I realised that traditional language learning apps weren't enough. Children needed something more natural, more conversational, more like chatting with a caring friend or family member.
The Approach
Unlike traditional language learning applications that focus on structured lessons and formal grammar exercises, I wanted to focus on natural conversation. This AI tutor acts like a grandmotherly figure who's genuinely curious about your child's day, creating an environment where Hindi flows naturally.
Children learn best when they're engaged and having fun. That's why the conversations are child-led, flowing naturally based on their interests – whether that's talking about school, dinosaurs, cartoons, or their favorite activities.
This is for every child growing up between two worlds, trying to hold onto the language of home.
